Overview

Spendfy is a personal finance application designed to simplify expense tracking and financial management. Built with a modern web stack, the application combines a Next.js frontend with an Express.js and TypeScript backend, using Neon-hosted PostgreSQL for persistent data storage and Google Gemini for AI-powered financial insights.

Problem

Tracking personal finances manually makes it difficult to maintain organized transaction records, monitor spending habits, manage budgets, and understand monthly financial performance.

Solution

Developed a full-stack expense tracking application with a structured relational database, JWT-based authentication, transaction and category management, budget tracking, financial summaries, and AI integration to help users better understand their financial activity.
